The first release of DJ Swami’s electronic meets world music STRANDS project, Saainyaan is an uplifting and emotional journey of optimism fused with soul-searching Punjabi sufi lyrics of love and spirituality.

A collaboration between award winning producer DJ Swami, Buddha Bar featured vocalist Unnati Dasgupta, renown Iraqi Kuridsh vocalist Lanja Ali and BBC Music Introducing sarangi player Amrit Kaur, Saainyaan was recorded during the peak of COVID-19 lockdown in 2020/2021 completely remotely using only digital streaming audio platforms and artists shooting their own video footage.

The STRANDS project explores our collective experiences of isolation, loneliness and belonging, finding new ways using digital technology to bring our creativity back together in a very different world…
